CANON
Much of my work deals with ideas of stucture, either in a physical/spacial way or in a psychological
way. With "CANON" I investigate for the first time a third path; the temporal stucture.
In the span of 90 seconds 700 years of painting speeds before our eyes. What is interesting to
note is that what started as a conceptual study of time became, in the end, something quite
other; I had not expected the intense emotional impact of thousands of paintings from the
unique visions Old Masters to truly be able to break through and emerge from the blur, each
work is after all only visible for 1/40th of a second [there is usually more than one work per frame], but emerge they do, a nice testament to the
strenght of art.
